Summerfest started off on Friday night with a special Kruze night at the Stokes Bay General Store
with the usual antique and classic cars and motorcycles along with the Soapbox entries for the Show
and Shine. The defending Peoples Favourite Soapbox winners from 2007 Josie Meilhausen and
Cassandra Bridge took home top honours again this year with a new entry of a Model T Roadster.
Many thanks to the Hayes family for bringing over their #51 Nascar Busch Car and their Nascar
Craftsman Truck. Everyone enjoyed looking them over.

When the sun set on Friday night, Bob and Chris from the General Store hosted a jam session around a campfire.
Dixon and Company along with a few brave souls entertained everyone with a wide variety of songs. There is nothing better
than good music, good friends, and good weather.

Saturday morning started with a weather forecast predicting 60% chance of rain, and threatening clouds. Not to be
deterred, the Yard Sale items were set up and the Aubin family were ready to sell the treasures donated to the sale. Next to
the yard sale, things were getting under way with a Breakfast menu offered by Bob Zavitz and his famous possee.
At around 9:45 a.m. the 60% chance materialized into about 15 drops of rain, unlike the rest of the Peninsula that apparently
got the balance of the rain. It just goes to show that we live right in Stokes Bay.
